1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

Scripture Insights

Paul closes out his letter to the Thessalonians with a prayer. His

challenging and encouraging words reminded them and remind us to trust the Lord’s character and ability. Our Father has an immaculate track record. It is flawless! Absolutely nothing is too great for our God!

My soul finds rest in the Lord’s forever faithfulness. Consistently, in my journey of growing as a disciple, I am reminded to not depend on my own confidence, a confidence of self. Rather, I am challenged to step out with God-confidence. This brings great freedom when serving the Lord! Truly, it’s not about us—it’s about him!

It is by God’s grace that we experience and pursue the call the Lord has given each of us as disciples. We are to reflect his love, peace, and purity. Thankfully this is not achieved through our own strength but through the sanctifying power of the Spirit. When the Lord calls us into water “over our head,” we are to confidently dive in by faith. Let’s trust our Father every step of the way.

Today’s Prayer

Lord, help me be your hands and feet—a reflector of you. Purify me. Remind me to lean in close and rely on you alone. Embolden me to be a vessel of your love, grace, and peace.
