1 John 2:6

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

Scripture Insights

Ohio State University, located within my mission field, has a large fan base and a beloved mascot—Brutus Buckeye.

Since 1965, students have been chosen to wear the Brutus Buckeye costume, taking on his identity. While in character, their actions reflect the spirit of Brutus. They represent something bigger than themselves.

John’s message offers a powerful parallel: those who are “in Christ” are called to take on his identity. As Christlike disciples, we don’t just follow Jesus—we reflect him. This is a sacred calling: to live as he lived, not only in our words but through our actions, attitudes, and love.

Let this truth stir your heart today. Ask yourself, “Am I walking as Jesus did?”

Lean into his presence. Let your life be a visible testimony—not just of belief in Christ but of a life transformed by him.

Walk in Christ today. That’s our calling. That’s our identity as Christlike disciples.

Today’s Prayer

Lord, clothe me in your likeness. May my actions, words, and love reflect Christ. Let me walk daily in your Spirit, living not for myself but as a visible testimony of your grace. Shape me into your image.
