Ephesians 1:13
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.
Scripture Insights
As we consider the context surrounding this verse, we find the phrase “in Christ” more than five times and “in him” six times, which teaches us that when we hear the message of truth or the good news of salvation, it is Christ Jesus alone who made salvation possible.
Therefore, it is possible for all who believe in him and receive him as their personal Savior to be forgiven from all sin and to be sealed with the promised
Holy Spirit.
The good news—or gospel of salvation—is for both Jews and gentiles. God´s loving plan of salvation has always been and still is inclusive for everyone (see John 3:16). The Holy Spirit gives us the power to bear witness that Jesus came to look for and save a lost and dying world.
I have been witnessing to one of my neighbors, who told me he is about to get divorced. I pray that the God of hope will save his soul and restore his marriage and family.
Today’s Prayer
Thank you, heavenly Father, for including all sinners in your plan of salvation through faith in the mighty name of Christ Jesus, our Savior. Empower us to witness to others of your transforming, saving, sanctifying grace.
