2 Corinthians 5:20 (NASB)

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Scripture Insights

One of my hobbies is to restore old muscle cars from the 1960s and ’70s. While I enjoy turning old, rusted metal into beautifully restored classics, it does take a tremendous amount of work. When I don’t know how to put something together or properly restore it, I often look for tutorials on YouTube. YouTube is a great place to learn new things, but I’ve noticed it is much easier to watch the video than to do the work!
We are called to go to church, read our Bible, and grow spiritually, but sometimes we forget to intentionally leverage what we have learned to bring transformation to the people around us. Today’s scripture demonstrates that God is not a passive observer, and we are not called to be either. God is entreating people—urgently pleading in order to persuade them—and he desires to do that through us! God is engaging our community with our stories and experiences to prove that transformation is real.
Don’t be a passive observer. Take everything you have learned as a follower of Jesus and use it to passionately engage others and transform lives!

Today’s Prayer

Father God, help us to catch your passion for the lost. Make your appeal through us. Leverage every good thing you have invested in our lives to engage our communities for Christ.
