Isaiah 9:2

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.

Scripture Insights

We have a toddler at home, and one of his favorite videos says, “Green means go. Yellow means slow. Red means stop!” This playful video teaches that each color light sends a different message even though all three have in common that they are lights. As we pray through this season, be reminded that the light is not only for those who are in the darkness but also for the ongoing direction of those already living in the light. Green light: Where are the places and who are the people that offer unhindered opportunities for you to share your faith?

Yellow light: Have you been rushing and speeding through moments when the Spirit is inviting you to slow down and build relationships?

Red light: Is it time to stop, to hear further instructions, or to change direction and strategy altogether?

As we prayerfully and faithfully heed the call to bring people to Jesus, make sure to keep your eyes on the light. Green means go. Yellow means slow. Red means stop!

Today’s Prayer

Lord, whether we need to speed up, slow down, or stop completely, we choose today to keep our eyes on your light and receive your direction for the journey ahead.
