Micah 6:8

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”

Scripture Insights

Have you ever been looking for your cell phone without realizing that you were on a call? Many of us, in our busy lives, lose sight of something and wonder in amazement where we left it. The same thing happens with our call to make disciples. We are so busy with many things that we lose sight of what is really important. We think that by being busy, we are doing the right thing, but that is not always the case. We get distracted by the urgent and forget the important.

God speaks through the prophet Micah to remind the people of three very important things: Do what is right. Love compassion. Walk humbly with God. Discipleship includes reflecting Jesus in every area of our lives—our behavior, our love for others, and our relationship with God. Discipleship is about inspiring others to love God and committing ourselves to following Jesus. Let’s make sure we don’t lose sight of what’s essential: our call to make disciples.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, help us to be focused on intentional discipleship in every conversation and every activity. May our lives inspire others to follow Jesus.
