Ephesians 3:10–11

His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Scripture Insights

It’s shocking, isn’t it? Ordinary us, everyday Jesus followers, are given the incredible trust to make God’s wisdom known to rulers and authorities in heavenly places! When evil rulers and authorities seek to divide and destroy humanity, our witness declares heaven’s ultimate authority, who is Jesus. We testify that God’s eternal purpose is already realized. That purpose is, in the fullness of time, to unite all things in him in heaven and on earth (see Ephesians 1:10). Church, we partner in uniting all things in Christ when, motivated by the fullness of the gospel, we move outside our normal spaces and into our communities.
We speak powerfully not only to heavenly rulers and authorities but also to earthly ones. By going toward pain and bringing the healing touch of Christ, his eternal purpose is realized one life at a time. When faced with war, famine, disease, addiction, and oppression, we carry within ourselves the hope that brings peace, freedom, and love.
Where will you carry hope today?

Today’s Prayer

Lord Jesus, we honor you today. May your mighty Spirit continually remind us that our words and actions carry hope and make your wisdom known, both on earth and in heaven. Help us live faithfully into this sacred trust.
