John 4:13–14

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Scripture Insights

I was recently looking for a new car, and the saleswoman showing me the car asked what I do for a living. When I told her I am a minister, she became emo tional. She told me she had not been to church in years but had just attended
the prior weekend for the first time in a long time. I asked her if she had com mitted her life back to God, and she replied she had not. Before I left, I had the
opportunity to pray with her to return to Christ.

In John 4, we see that Jesus asks the Samaritan woman for a drink of water. He tells her of the living water that he gives, quenching thirst forever. This well of invitation, along with the rest of her lengthy conversation with Jesus, led her to tell many others about the Messiah.

Every day God can open wells of invitation that allow us to tell others about Jesus. We have this invitation from Jesus to share with those around us every day!

Today’s Prayer

Jesus, help us to see the world around us the way you see it. Help us to see the harvest field of souls for whom you died and rose again! Help us to share with others about your love and your invitation to drink of your eternal living water.
